This week I’m taking it back to basics….One of the biggest misconceptions about fashion is that you have to spend the big money on the good stuff. The breath taking pieces. The show stoppers. EHHH YOU’RE WORNG. You should always invest your money into good basics. The pieces that are going to last you years. Leave the flashy to our friends over at Zara, and H&M. Not everybody has the same budget, so for some people spending $98 on a T-Shirt is nothing, and for some people spending $25 on one is just “TOO MUCH!” I’m here to tell you it’s OKAY to splurge on basics. With today’s look I am wearing a mix of high and low basics. $300 Jeans, $15 hat, $60 T-Shirt , and $200 Boots (which are about dead). Now if I could afford a $1200 leather jacket in my life right now, that would be an investment for me. However, I’m as student and can’t so sometimes we have to improvise a bit.
LETS BREAK IT DOWN (Cue MR.DJ) 5 Basic’s you should be splurging on!
You’re wasting your money on $35 Wet Seal jeans ever month. (they will rip..at the WORST time..that’s fashion karma)
Once again still wasting on those $30 Boots from Forever. YES, PERFECT for your event next week, But you need to be running errands and living in something that can PROTECT your feet. You may hate me now, but you will thank me when your 40.
3) T- Shirts
I don’t want to hear about your $3 shirt from Walmart….I want to hear about that $20 T shirt from Victoria Secret, or EXPRESS that you have had for 3 years and hasn’t faded a BIT!
4) (LADIES) BRA’S AND UNDERWEAR
Do I really need to break that down? Just don’t.
5) You’re gorgeous smile.
It doesn’t matter if you have a huge bank account or not, beauty, and style comes from the heart. Express yourself freely, and remember that “You’re never fully dressed without a smile”
Love yourself, Love each other
