The amazing Fashion X Dallas came to close finishing strong with designers that were all featured on Lifetime hit t.v. show Project Runway. If you missed my last recap of FXD, this is a new venture looking to showcase Texas as well as a great event for the city of Dallas to enjoy and not just the regular “Invite Only” crowd. I love this idea because it opens for doors for people looking to network in the Dallas fashion community as well inspire young designers. FXD night 3 featured designers from multiple seasons of Project Runway that all shined in their own unique way. Designers included fan favorites Korto Momolu, Laura Kathleen, Mychael Knight and Melissa Flesis to name a few. Shabby chic and sporty athletic dress wear were two of the biggest trends that were cohesive through most collections. The show started out strong with Laminatura, a children’s clothing line by Jeffrey Sebelia winner of Project Runway season 3. Not only were the children’s clothes amazing and so fun the models were no where near shy when it came to rocking the runway. Audience members gasped as these little munchkins posed for the camera and completely put everyone in a joyful mood. It left me wondering….Where can I get one of these sassy, spitfire children! Is there a sassy children modeling factory I don’t know of?! Bravo to all those parents. Each show was so unique and showcased the true talent of each designer, it was almost as if we got to know these designer T.V. stars more on a personal level and I think that is something a lot of audience members could feel. Designers even stayed to pose for pictures with fans after the showings and I even saw a few giving advice to some other young aspiring design students. I love that Fashion X Dallas not only put a spotlight on the amazing talent in Texas but also brought nationally recognized designers to inspire and become so approachable! The show finished strong with designs from Project Runway All Star season 2 winner Anthony Ryan Auld. His collection featured chunky knits, geometrical prints and brought another life to the average neutrals. Other Fashion bloggers in attendance included Stephanie Drenka, Ellen Flowers, Cynthia Smoot & Leah Frazier of D.F.W. Style Daily. Big round of applause to all those at were a part of putting this event together, It was so fun to get to experience all the hard work and details of the first ever Fashion X Dallas! I look forward to many more years to come. Seriously Y’all….This is not one to be missed in the future!
