Shopping for trousers is one of the few things I absolutely despise doing. I mean. I really hate it. As someone who carries a lot of weight in their legs it can be extremely difficult to find a pair of pants that rant old man chic or gender questionable, I need to fall somewhere in the middle. I was very nervous to buy these plaid pants online but it was my only choice because they were from Asos, as I awaited my 6-10 business days for them to arrive I quickly became obsessed. Obsessed with how perfect they were, and obsessed with the horrid nightmare that they wouldn’t even fit. To my surprise when I opened the package…..they looked like my size. As I slowly pulled them over my knees and I still had room for my thighs It was at that moment I knew I had hit the jack pack. Cue the harps and angels because it was a miracle.
Dressing up a pair of printed trousers is so easy, if they are a loud print simply find the color that is in the print the least and find a scarf or shirt that color to help pull it together. With a plaid pair like I have on its best to make the pants the headlining act and everything else is just there to support the cause. I’m in love with this white dress shirt without any tie, I think it makes it so modern and european chic when left alone. Seeing that it is a chilling 34 degrees in Dallas I figure I better layer up a little with my favorite cape from Topshop, this helps give the look another dimension and looks oh so effortless! Switch out the jacket for the cape by itself for a more comfortable dramatic look.
